AWS Portfolio Synopsis

During my time at AWS, I contributed to several high-impact documentation initiatives that improved the clarity, consistency, and a security of content across AWS services. My work spanned content strategy, structural reorganization, and streamlining maintenance efforts across multiple services.

Key Contributions

  • Security Content Overhaul I led the revision and standardization of security guidance across service documentation, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and current best practices. I developed and applied reusuable content templates to ensure consistency across services and languages.

  • IAM Best Practice Campaign As a lead writer on the IAM Best Practices initiative, I updated guidance across all service docs to reflect a shift from the use of long-term root user credentials, to instead require human users to use federation with an identity provider to access AWS resources using temporary credentials. I collaborated cross-functionally to align documentation with evolving security standards, helping AWS customers improve compliance and reduce risk.

  • AWS Documentation Portal Managed the landing page for AWS product documentation, including regional and localized versions.

  • First-Time Setup Experience Redesigned the new user experience by consolidating and rewriting fragmented content from the IAM, Identity Center, and the Sign-In guides into a single, comprehensive guide for getting started with AWS. Without a content management system, I devised a creative approach to allow for single-sourcing across the guides to improve maintainability. The guide has since been converted to a tutorial and added to the Getting Started Resource Center: Setting Up Your AWS Environment.
